OpenFolder Documentation

Overview

The OpenFolder plugin for Cinema 4D is a utility tool designed to streamline file and folder navigation. It allows users to quickly locate rendering files, project files, or open a configuration file for editing. The plugin is highly customizable through an external configuration file (`config.json`), enabling users to define specific folder paths for rendering files.

Features

1. Locate Latest Render File:

- Automatically searches for the latest rendering file in user-defined folders.

- If no rendering file is found, it defaults to locating the project file.

2. Locate Project File:

- With a keyboard modifier (Shift or Ctrl), the plugin directly opens the project file in the file explorer.

3. Edit Configuration File:

- With the Alt key, the plugin opens the config.json file for editing, allowing users to customize folder paths.

4. Clipboard Integration:

- Automatically copies the opened file or folder path to the clipboard for easy sharing or reuse.

Usage

1. Activate the Plugin:

- After installation, the plugin will appear in the Cinema 4D menu under the name OpenFolder.

- Click on it to execute the default behavior or use keyboard modifiers for specific actions.

2. Keyboard Modifiers:

- Shift or Ctrl: Directly opens the project file in the file explorer.

- Alt: Opens the config.json file for editing.
